Type 1 Diabetes Network… You Are Not Alone!
JDRF is committed to bringing more networking events to the DFW area.  We are currently expanding our Outreach Program to be able to provide more networking events for parents who have children with type 1 diabetes, and teens & adults who live with type 1 diabetes.  The mission of the type 1 diabetes network is to promote physical, emotional and spiritual well-being through family support, exchange of information and shared experiences.  If you are interested in these types of events, please Click Here and send an email including your name, address, phone number and email.  We will be sure to add you to the JDRF network group and keep you posted on all upcoming activities. 

Coffees for a Cure
Coffees are hosted in Dallas and Collin County by families in those areas that are involved with JDRF.  The primary purpose of the "Coffee for a Cure" is to give parents of children with type 1 diabetes a chance to meet, network and educate one another.  If you are interested in attending the next one in your area, please Click Here and send an email with.

Dallas Teens Diabetic Force
This is a NEW group for Type 1 teens and is just getting started.  If you are interested in helping the Greater Dallas Chapter organize these events, please Click Here and send an email with your name, address, phone number and email.  The goal is to have regular events where teens and their parents meet together or separately for mutual support, exchange of information and build advocacy for type 1 teens. 

Ideas for events for the group are movie and pizza night for the teens, holiday family parties, glow-in-the-dark bowling, car washes to raise funds, picnics and participation as a group in the annual WALK TO CURE DIABETES.  For More Information on Teen Support Group please Click Here and send an email including your name, address, phone number and email. 

Just for Adults… because until JDRF finds a cure, kids never graduate from type 1, juvenile diabetes.

You Are Not Alone
Just want to talk and have someone listen?  Or do you need to hear from someone who has been in your shoes?  JDRF’s network of mentor families is about sharing, helping, listening, and new friendships with people who understand your fears, questions, and yes, even your tears.  This network operates through the Greater Dallas Chapter of JDRF, but is driven and coordinated by volunteers who have been where you are.  We have parents, grandparents and adults who live with type 1 diabetes that we can get you connected to!  If you are interested in speaking with a mentor, please Click Here and send an email with your name, address, phone and email address.
